I work with clients to look at what they want to achieve in their lives, in the present and future, rather than focus extensively on the problems that prompted them to seek change in the first place. What we think shapes our world emotionally and, to a considerable extent, physiologically too. I think we do so through all of our senses. What I have found is that in changing our view we can gently make profound changes.
During sessions I ask my clients to consider their preferred future, for instance, what would be better in their life if the problem had improved, or even gone away? What would they do differently? And what difference would that make? This line of inquiry enables the client to imagine a positive outcome where solutions become more apparent and can be worked towards.
Hypnosis itself reduces anxiety and this is done very simply through focused attention and guided visualisations, allowing the client to focus on the positive aspects of their lives that encourages a shift in perspective.
Solution Focused Hypnotherapy can help with confidence and self esteem problems as well as reducing the symptoms of depression and anxiety, panic attacks and the menopause.
