Is anxiety and stress holding you back from living the life you really want to live?

Do you feel that life is passing you by, that you don’t spend time doing things you used to love and often find yourself wondering what happened to the person you used to be.

Anxiety and stress can show up in many areas of life and the process can be gradual until you notice that you sleeping badly or not at all, that you ruminate about the past and worry about what is going to happen in the future. Life has simply lost it’s sparkle.

When you struggle to ‘fix’ problems in your life it is tempting to reach for coping strategies to help you feel better quick. Distractions, don’t we all know them. So you might reach for comfort food, have that extra glass of wine, smoke more than usual or spend way too much time on social media to distract yourself from the racing thoughts in your mind.

Feeling out of control and rudderless can have a huge impact on your personal relationships as well as your performance at work. When your confidence goes it is easy to start feeling depressed, comparing yourself to others and not feeling good enough. Negative thinking can become circular and obsessive which are the hallmarks of anxiety. Sleep becomes elusive and your health may deteriorate as a consequence. It’s not a nice place to be.

It may be time to ask for help

If this sounds familiar then you may be pleased to know that help doesn’t have to be complicated nor does it have to take months and years. Taking that first step to ask for help can be surprisingly cathartic and liberating. When we listen to what we need and act upon it we are already on the way to a new and improved life. Doing something new always brings new outcomes.

How is it done?

When you come to see me, we’ll focus on your preferred future, who you want to be, the outcome you really want without dwelling excessively on your past. This helps you to set goals and to move towards a happier and healthier way of life. A life that is ideally suited to YOU. We work on strategies to change the underlying core beliefs that you may have been telling yourself for many years to free yourself from unhelpful thought patterns.

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy

This effective method uses a combination of talk therapy based on the latest neuroscience, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) and Solution Focused BRIEF Therapy combined with clinical hypnosis. Hypnosis itself is a calm and wonderful state of focused attention, very similar to day dreaming, where we can access the part of your brain which is receptive to changing negative thinking habits and behaviour. This helps you create brand new and more positive ways of thinking.

Hypnotherapy is one of the most effective ways of reprogramming subconscious blocks that stops us from living happy, fulfilling and carefree lives”

‘My sessions with Birgitta have been a life changing. I used to get really cross with most people, especially my kids, and I was always anxious and stressed, feeling I had not done enough. Through hypnosis with Birgitta I have learned that only I am in charge of my future and that my thoughts shape my reality. I love, love, love the deep relaxation and will come back for a top up when life gets the better of me. Thank you.’

As a therapist, it is my duty to help you feel better in as few sessions as possible which is why it’s important that you understand that to want change you have to be willing to engage in the therapeutic process. The sessions are a collaborative endeavour and should be treated as such. For this reason I cannot guarantee results.

*The NHS strongly recommmends that you only seek a professional therapist who belong to one or more of these accrediting bodies.
